Don Soker Contemporary Art is pleased to present a very special exhibition of recently available works of gallery artists both from its reserved inventory as well as private collections. The title "Focus" refers to the selection of minimal, post-minimal, conceptual and reductive works by 15 of our represented artists. These works are in a variety of mediums and reflect the gallery's long interest in this genre. The title's meaning also alludes to the present tense which holds the past as well as the future.
The artists whose works are on exhibition are from the US as well as Japan, Germany, France, and England. These include Tom Bills, Christel Dillbohner, Kaori Fukuyama, Robin Hill, Shoichi Ida, Carole Jeung, Theodora Varnay Jones, Hiroyuki Kitano, Makoto Kumagai, Takesada Matsutani, Kanako Namura, Trude Parkinson, Susanne Schossig, Shoichi Seino, and Eleanor Wood. The considerable range of mediums employed include ceramic graphite, steel, oil, watercolor, photography, ink, pencil, silkscreen, and etching. Many of the artists have extensive international reputations and their works are included in major public and private collections.
